We love our food here at The Clay Factory and as many of you know we endorse the plant-based approach when it comes to our cuisine, which can be quite a tricky prospect when navigating those Christmas treats.

So we have put together a run of workshops aimed to teach people how to make great, tasty and wholesome Christmas treats the plant-based way.

Ideal for vegans, veggies and anyone with a sweet tooth!

Christmas Cake Workshop From Start To Finish


We all love a bit of Christmas cake and because of this we have put together the perfect Christmas cake masterclass which will guide you through the process from start to finish – leaving you with enhanced kitchen skills and a luxury Christmas cake to share with the rest of your family. and friends (that’s if you want to of course).

Join us for three sessions and enjoy the whole experience of making your own Vegan Christmas Cake; made entirely by you and iced by you ready to show to all your friends and family and then indulge in during the festive period. What is more you will have the tin and the recipe to make again next year all by yourself.

Christmas Cake Sessions

Session 1  November 11th:

10.00 – 12.30 Making Your Cake

Session 2 December 2nd:

10.00 – 12.30 Marzipaning Your Cake

Session 3 December 16th:

10.00 – 12.30 Icing Your Cake to then take home ready for feasting!

£80 per person (plus booking fee), all ingredients and materials included.


Stir Up Sunday With RedPod Food


Stir Up Sunday is an age old festive tradition, we not only love tradition but we also love the festive period. So why don’t you and your loved ones join us in anticipation for the most wonderful time of the year.

Sunday, 25 November 2018 is ‘Stir-up Sunday’, so put on your apron and gather family or friends to make a Christmas pudding under the expert tutelage of Vegan Chef William. It’s the day when wishes are said to come true, so get stirring! Stir Up Sunday is a tradition that harks back to Victorian times when the family would gather together to stir the Christmas pudding five weeks before Christmas.

Pricing information

At the end of the session you will have made two puddings that are wrapped and ready to be steamed at home. The recipe you take home, will tell you how to steam your pudding; how to feed your pudding with additional alcohol or fruit juice, and how to serve your pudding on the big day.

This workshop is a great trip out, fun for adults and kids alike.

Tickets cost £25 for individuals, £40 for couples and families (max 2 adults). 10am to 12.30pm on Nov 25th.


Make Vegan Mincemeat and Mine Pies With RedPod Food


Everybody loves a good mince pie and here at RedPod Food we’re no different (in fact we start eating them around October). For us it is the mincemeat that makes these traditional pies such a sought after treat even in the weeks before and after Christmas. So we why not join us as we teach you how to make the perfect mince pie?

Join RedPod Food Chef William as he shares his own very special and very secret Mincemeat Recipe handed down to him by his Grandfather. He has developed this into a Vegan recipe that can be enjoyed by everyone.

Pricing information

On this workshop you will take away two jars of mincemeat ready to make your own mince pies at home. The session will also include a demonstration of making mince pies and you will be able to take home 6 mince pies that have already been prepared and cooked in the RedPod Kitchen. There will also be two choices of mince pie styles and we can even do gluten free, if you would like to let us know in advance that this is your preference.

Luxury Christmas Cake Icing Workhsop


Too busy to make a Christmas cake but would still like to have something to call your own and show off to friends and family during the Festive period? This might be the ideal RedPod Food session for you. RedPod Food will make, bake and top surface cover a 10cm Christmas cake for you to call your own, using our own traditional vegan rich fruit cake recipe.

Pricing information

Then during this session you will choose a simple but effective decoration and then ice your cake ready to take home in plenty of time for you to enjoy over the Christmas period.

What is included in the ticket price?

The ticket price is for your cake icing session which also includes ingredients, & materials. All our ingredients are of the highest quality.

Is this a vegan only event?

Not on your nelly!!! The cake is suitable for vegans and veggies but tastes so great everyone will want a slice.

What are my transport options for getting to and from the event?

The Clay Factory is accesible by car, we’re just a hop and skip from the A38 as we’re situated on the outskirts of Ivybridge which means we’re easy to get to from Exeter, Torbay, Totnes, Dartmoor, Plymouth, Cornwall and surrounding areas.

The Clay Factory is also accessible by public transport, there are several bus services that pass by the venue including the Gold bus which travels through Torbay, Totnes, Ivybridge and Plymouth. Ivybridge train station is a 20 minute walk from the venue. This is a Sunday event so make sure you check Sunday bus and train times before booking.
