I AM NOT YOUR NEGRO
As part of Black History month we show one of the most challenging documentaries of our times. This is a sobering look at the cvil rights movement of years gone by and the present day situation faced by the current avail rights movement #BLACKLIVESMATTER.
Narrated by Samuel L. Jackson and with unprecedented access to James Baldwin’s original work, award-winning filmmaker Raoul Peck (Murder in Pacot, Moloch Tropical, Sometimes in April, Lumumba), has completed the cinematic version of the book Baldwin never wrote – a radical narration about race in America that tracks the lives and assassinations of Baldwin’s friends, Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X and Medgar Evers.
By confronting the deeper connections between the lives and assassinations of these three men we uncover a larger narrative of America’s historical and current denial and irrational relationship with race. This ‘history of violence’ is also told through the long simplified narrative that Hollywood recounts as a story between ‘good’ and ‘evil’ or ‘right and wrong’, reflects our current racial precariousness.
This really is going to be a special cinema treat, numbers are limited and this really is an event you, your friends and family will not want to miss!!!
Tickets cost just £5 for an adult and £3 for under 18’s plus booking fee.

“Fantastic venue. We went to watch The Goonies, two adults and two children. The screen was brilliant, it was fantastic value in an amazing space (particularly the sofa, snuggled under the blankets!), and the snacks from Red Pod were delicious. We will be back!”
“Fantastic afternoon with friends and kids watching goonies under blankets with wonderful snacks. It’s a very relaxed and friendly place. Can’t wait to go again.”

FAQs
Where can I buy tickets?
What is included in the ticket price?
The ticket price entitles you admittance to the film screening.
Food, drinks and snacks are not included in the price of the ticket.
What is the age classification of the film?
Films classified 12A and video works classified 12 contain material that is not generally suitable for children aged under 12. No one younger than 12 may see a 12A film in a cinema unless accompanied by an adult. Adults planning to take a child under 12 to view a 12A film should consider whether the film is suitable for that child. To help them decide, we recommend that they check the BBFCinsight for that film in advance. No one younger than 12 may rent or buy a 12 rated video work.
Is this a family friendly screening?
Children are welcome but we request that you take into consideration the age classification of the film before bringing children to the screening as the film does contain themes that could be deemed scary for some children. We would also request that all under 16’s are accompanied by an adult.
Can I bring my own food into the screening?
We would prefer you not to bring your own drinks and snacks, we are a social enterprise set up to help make the charity The Eddystone Trust more sustainable and depend on the revenue raised from our events to help make this possible.
Will there be tickets on the door?
There will limited tickets on the door, as a result, it is best to book in advance to avoid disappointment.
Is your venue wheelchair friendly?
We are wheelchair friendly, we have a range of different access points and portable ramps to make sure visitors with access needs can be accommodated – the best thing to do would be to contact us prior to the event to make sure we are ready to assist on the day.
What are my transport options for getting to and from the event?
The Clay Factory is accessible by car, we’re just a hop and skip from the A38 as we’re situated on the outskirts of Ivybridge which means we’re easy to get to from Exeter, Torbay, Totnes, Dartmoor, Plymouth, Cornwall and surrounding areas.
